Hurricane?
Mood:  a-ok

DEAN Who?  .....no, we have not been visited by Dean, though we may get some of the rain.  Actually, it was overcast and intermittently showery today, and more of the same is expected.  We did not, however, that Dean should score a direct hit on Pozo Rico, the town where the crooked cops shook us down.  Hmmmm..!

We finally got our pick-up back.  Nice to have wheels, again.  Will be taking a load of folks from church to the Centennial Camp where our friends are working.  We'll have a service there, then a picnic and games this weekend.  Many folks looking forward to it.  So few get out of town, and then only on a chicken bus.  The level of poverty is high, but these folks are not complainers.  They work hard and make the most of what God has given.  A real lesson for us.  There is a special couple with four kids we are especially trying to help. Noe is the husband/father, and is a real strong belivever in our little church, and I am sure would jump at the chance to take classes at the seminary, but the means just aren't there.  He has been doing the devotional at the end of our ESL classes, the attendance of which remains great!

Full house at the facility this week, and I've been working on water systems.  Electricity been real unstable the last two weeks, and most days we've been down for a couple hours.  During these time I must fire up the ol' generator, which only services the pump motors for the  water.  Struggled thru anothe Spanish lesson today..just need to take more time to memorize..so keep praying!  niel.

We are enjoying your letters.  What does ESL stand for? We really like knowing what is going on at LBN.  It sounds like you are really keeping busy and enjoying it.  I can empathize with you on learning Spanish, those verb tenses are a challenge.  Greet Marco, Martha and Abraham for us.

8.22.07  Hi! Dears,  I'm still trying to get my new computer in working order!  Geek Squad is due here on 9.4...meantime I must rely on the lobby computer which is often out of order, too!  Going to ask Beth to make a copy of your blogs so I can post them on our church bulletin board as well as at HH.  Thanks for all of your fascinating info...I know that the Guat folks are very blessed with your presence in their midst.  Many prayers are being said for y'all up here.  I'm back in therapy and it is finally giving me a bit of relief for my back.  Love you both very much and pray that our Lord continues to bless you with his love and gratitude for all that you are accomplishing.   Ginny

Duh - I just read about ESL at the bottom of the page which answered my question about what it was.  That is great that you are teaching English to them.

Pat Wallace,

We did have your e-mail at one time, but I cannot find it now. so if you could send us an e-mail, we could get it again and correspond better.Thank you for your prayers for our language learning.  Our age doesn't help, I'm sure.  And I think I probably have more opportunity to use it while working with the children in Sunday School at the CAm church than Niel does.

Thanks.

Ginny,

I am so glad that your back is finally getting some relief.  Are you sleeping better, also?  When you get your computer fixed, be sure and send us an e-mail, so we can correspond to you personally.   Niel has been sick with a bad cold the past few days, but I think he will feel better tomorrow.  It is the first time he has been sick here except for one day of stomach stuff.

Love,

Diana
